Academic Plan for Language Arts & Social Studies (3/18 - 4/19)
***PLEASE SEE JUNIOR HIGH TIME LINE POSTED ABOVE FOR DAILY RUN DOWNS OF ASSIGNMENTS***
I will be utilizing Google Classroom as the format for the online in Language Arts and Social Studies. On Monday morning of each week I will post the lessons and requirements for the week. Below is a brief description of each content areas expectations, as well as, more specific tasks so that you can monitor your child's progress. If your child should experience any issues, have difficulties or just general questions please don't hesitate to contact me via email ([email protected]). I will be frequently checking email on our scheduled school days. I also reminded the kids to be sure to check their school email each morning as I may be communicating something specific with them throughout the week. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this strange time.

-I have assigned 3 choices of novels to read over the at home instruction time.

2. Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry
3. Let the Circle Be Unbroken by Mildred D. Taylor
* There is a post in Google Classroom that asks the students to respond to which novel group they would like to be in. Please encourage them to do so by the end of the day on 3/18. I will then place students into a Google Classroom group based on their choice. This is where they will access all materials and work for the novel. The students will also be participating in novel discussion groups still, via the discussion board in Google classroom. They will need to participate in these discussion by the end of each week that they are assigned.)
Expression
*Writing assignments will correlate with the novel and will be posted in Google Classroom.
Grammar

- 15 concepts to review ( minimum of 1 activity per day for work days, but certainly can do more)

Social Studies Long Term Plans: Topics: The Spanish American War, WW1, The Roaring 20's *All lessons for the SS will be posted in Google Classroom. There will be links to text sections to read and complete study guides as well as web quest research activities and instructional videos. |
